SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING IDEAS FOR MARCH

SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING IDEAS FOR MARCH

"March is a month of considerable frustration. It is so near spring and yet across a great deal of the country the weather is still so violent and changeable that outdoor activity in our yards seems light years away." -Thalassa Cruso

SO… WHAT TO POST IN MARCH?

March is an annoyingly interesting month. For any business big or small - tax season is about to hit, our teams are facing the last month of the sales quarter. The moody weather doesn’t help, our immune systems fail us constantly, we get sick, then we see sunshine and it gets a little better. Feeling overwhelmed is the new normal. On top of all that, it would be awesome to post something interesting on social media… You kind of remember there is Saint Paddy’s Day, the spring is coming and all the good stuff, but how to make it relevant to your business?

When I started my marketing journey, social media wasn’t that big of a deal. All my employer really wanted was to put out a good offer, boost it with a TV commercial and make sure the field team delivers. Fortunately social platforms changed a lot, especially for small and medium businesses. We all have a chance to connect with our customers on a daily basis, organically, without spending a dime. This creates some serious opportunities but also unavoidable dangers of spamming irrelevant, “showcasing” content.

IS MY CONTENT INTERESTING ENOUGH?

“The Internet” wrote hundreds of blog articles on content marketing. Marketers talk about it constantly. You have to have strategy and stay relevant to your audience. You’ve heard it before, haven’t you? As a matter of fact you hear so much about “content marketing” it’s slowly becoming one of those meaningless buzzwords. On the same page you do want to succeed and staying relevant to your customers is important to you. So what does it all really mean?
Remember this simple rule:
Traditional marketing talks to people, content marketing talks with them.
Implementing this rule to your posts will make all the difference. Whether you’re a real estate broker, restaurant owner or life coach, talking to people is crucial… regardless of the platform. Instead of another “Happy Saint Patrick’s Day” post, try to start a conversation, get people involved in your product and process, ask for their opinions, let them participate!
